Five people, including two from Tameside have been charged as part of a police operation targeting a number of thefts from cash machines.
Officers carried out a series of raids across Ashton and Stockport on Wednesday morning (26th June), supported by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, as part of Operation Benson.
Further searches were also carried out on Woodlands Close in Tintwistle and Lea Fold, Solihull by members of Derbyshire and West Midlands Police.
Of those detained five have been charged including 35-year old Gavin Singleton, from Oldham Road in Ashton, whose been accused of a number of offences including conspiracy to commit burglary other a dwelling with intent to steal, conspiracy to cause an explosion likely to endanger life/injure property and conspiracy to conceal/disguise/convert/transfer/remove criminal property.
Singleton is due to appear before Magistrates on Thursday 27th June.
30-year old Charlotte Singleton, of Uxbridge Street in Ashton, has also been charged with conspiracy to conceal, disguise, convert, transfer or remove criminal property.
She’s due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Thursday 27th June.
Three others have also been charged and are due before Magistrates on Thursday (27th June).
