Tameside shop worker threatened with knife during robbery

Police in Tameside have released CCTV footage of the terrifying moment when two men burst into a shop in the borough, threatening a member of staff with a knife before fleeing with a quantity of cash.

It was shortly before 8pm on Tuesday 4th December 2018 when officers were called to Convenience Store on Whiteacre Road in Ashton following reports of a robbery.

They’ve now released the video in a bid to try and track down the two men seen in the footage.

It shows two people walking into the shop with their faces covered by hoods, one of the men walked up to the counter and lifts his jacket revealing a large silver blade underneath.

He appears to point the knife at someone behind the till before he climbs over and begins taking the money out of the till.

The second offender, who is seem carrying a large blade, appears in the footage carrying a large sports bag as the two men flee the scene on to Rodney Street.

In a statement to Revolution News, Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “Police have released CCTV after a knifepoint robbery in Ashton.

Shortly before 8pm on Tuesday 4 December 2018, police were called to Convenience Store on Whiteacre Road in Ashton in Tameside.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1896 of 04/12/18.
