Rochdale man charged with numerous sex offences

One man from Rochdale is due to appear before Magistrates later in May charged with numerous offences including rape, sexual assault and taking indecent images of a child.

In all 45-year old Mohammad Saleem, of Canon Street, has been accused of 24 offences which police believe happened between 2001 and 2019.

In all Saleem has been charged with five counts of indecent assault against a victim who was under the age of 16 at the time.

Eight counts of rape, including three against victims aged under the age of 16 at the time of the offence. Two counts of an assault against a victim over the age of 16, two counts of voyeurism with the victim over the age of 16 and two counts of sexual assault against a victim aged over 16.

Saleem has also been charged with two counts of making indecent images of a child, one count of possession of an extreme pornographic image, one count of unauthorised access to computer material and one count of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device.

The charges relate to two victims.

Saleem has been bailed to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.
