Rochdale library closed as a result of anti-social behaviour

A library in Rochdale has been closed until further notice after a spate of anti-social behaviour.

Darnhill Library was closed on Wednesday (26th June) and there have been now new date set for when it will reopen.

In a statement Councillor Janet Emsley, cabinet member for libraries, said: “Darnhill library is closed on a temporary basis following some incidents of antisocial behaviour, which are currently under investigation by Greater Manchester Police.

“We hope to reopen the library as soon as possible and we will keep customers fully updated.”

Heywood Library is the nearest open library to Darnhill and is open six days a week, anyone with books due to be returned to Darnhill Library can return them to Heywood.
