Robbery in Tameside leaves elderly victim ‘shaken’

Greater Manchester Police have reissued an appeal for help in trying to catch the person responsible after an elderly woman was left shaken following a robbery.

It was at around 7pm on Friday, 4th January when the victim was approached from behind by a woman who snatched her handbag.

During the attack the victim was dragged to the floor before the robber fled the scene with her handbag.

Police say nobody was injured during the incident but the woman, thought to be in her 60s, was left shaken.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a woman they want to talk to in connection with what happened.

Anyone who has any information about the robbery, or recognises the woman in the picture, should call police on 0161 856 9258 quoting incident number 1740 of 04/01/19.

Details can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
