Man left with stab wound after Middleton attack

Police in Middleton have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the back on Sunday afternoon (9th June).

It was at around 12.15pm when officers were called to the house on Manchester Old Road following reports that a man had been attacked and left with a puncture wound to his back.

The victim, thought to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital although his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are still ongoing.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police have said: “At 12.15am on Sunday, June 9, officers responded to reports that a man had been stabbed at a property in Manchester Old Road in Middleton.

"The victim, who is aged 20, was taken to hospital with a puncture wound to the back.

"His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police enquiries are continuing."
