A man has been charged with bomb hoax and malicious communications in Dukinfield.
It follows an incident last Thursday 16th January when police were called to a property on Birch Lane after concerns about the welfare of a man who was claiming to have an explosive device.
Road closures were put into place, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
32-year-old Meysam Kordi of Birch Street, Dukinfield has been charged with bomb hoax and malicious communications and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Saturday 18 January 2020).
Police confirmed that the device found was assessed and deemed safe at the scene by the bomb disposal unit.
