Detectives investigating the rape of a woman behind the town hall in Rochdale back in March say they’ve arrested a man in connection with the incident.
It was shortly after 5am on Sunday 31st March, when a woman was walking through a wooded area near to the rear of Rochdale Town Hall when she was forced to the ground by a man and raped.
An investigation was launched and a 30-year-old man was arrested earlier on Monday (15th April), on suspicion of rape.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Specialist officers are continuing to support the woman with the help of our partners.
