Heywood woman and Tameside man charged as part of drink driving campaign

One man from Tameside and a woman from Heywood are two of the nine people charged as part of the opening day of Greater Manchester Police’s drink and drug drive campaign.

In all officers made 14 arrests during the first 24-hours, including 46-year old Andrea Wilson, from Pleasant Street in Heywood, she’s due to appear before Magistrates in Manchester on Thursday 17th July charged with being drunk while in charge of a motor vehicle.

Among the other eight is 39-year old Kevin Willisford, from Fox Platt Terrace in Tameside, he was arrested and charged with failing to provide a specimen and having no driving licence.

He’s due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on Thursday 1st August.

Of the other seven people, from across Greater Manchester, they’ve all been accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol and are due to appear before Magistrates at a later date.

In all 14 people were arrested, the other five who haven’t been charged have all been released under investigation.
