Body discovered at derelict Middleton pub

Greater Manchester Police say they don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body at an abandoned pub in Middleton over the course of the weekend.

Emergency Services were called to The Woodman Inn on Wood Street at around 7.25pm on Saturday (8th June) following reports of concern for the welfare of a person.

When they arrived at the derelict pub they found the body of a man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have confirmed they don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a file has been passed to the Coroner.

No further details of the identity of the man have been released.
