Brad Wade agrees new deal at Rochdale

Rochdale have continued to tie down members of their squad ahead of the players returning for pre-season training this morning (Thursday 27th June) by agreeing a new deal with goalkeeper Brad Wade.

The 18-year old, who first arrived at the Crown Oil Arena as a 14-year old, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, keeping him with Dale until the summer of 2022.

A graduate of the club’s academy, Wade signed his first professional deal last summer and had a brief loan spell at non-league Barrow during the second half of last season but was recalled early to act as the club’s number two when injury hit Josh Lillis.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Wade said: ““I have been at the club for four years, so I’m delighted to have been offered a lengthy contract,” said Wade.

“I won’t be taking it for granted. I’m going to be working hard and doing everything I can to progress. I’ll look to make improvements every day in training and look to build on what I have done over the past few years.

“I’m still only 18. For Brian Barry-Murphy and Steve Collis to show that faith and belief in me means a lot. Hopefully I can repay them.”
