Remembrance Services 2018
A list of all the local remembrance services across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside
A procession will assemble at New Radcliffe Street at 10.20am and proceed to the War Memorial at 10.30am. The service will commence at 10.50am.
Oldham War Memorial, Oldham (opposite the Old Town Hall).
A procession will assemble at the Chadderton Reform Club, Middleton Road, Chadderton at 10am and proceed to the War Memorial at 10.30am. The service will take place at 10.55am.
War Memorial in the Old Town Hall Gardens, Middleton Road, OL9 6PY
A procession will assemble at the Royal British Legion Club, Newtown Street, Shaw, at 10.30am proceeding to the War Memorial at 10.40am. The service will take place at 10.55am.
Crompton War Memorial, Oldham, OL2 8RQ
The parade will assemble at the Failsworth Health Centre at 10.10am proceeding to the War Memorial at 10.30am prompt. The service will take place at 10.55am.
War Memorial, Oldham Road, Failsworth
A procession will assemble at Thomas Street at 10.10am prior to proceeding to the War Memorial. The service will take place at 10.30am.
Lees War Memorial, Thomas Street, Lees
Uniformed services to assemble at the rear of the Co-op at 10.40am prompt and march to the memorial at 10.50am.
Royton Park, Royton, Oldham, OL2 6LR
Meeting at Byrth Road, near Holy Trinity Church at 10.45am, procession will commence at 10.50am. Service to take place just before 11am at Bardsley War Memorial.
Bardsley War Memorial, Ashton Road, Bardsley
At 10.50am the Vicar of Waterhead and councillors serving in the Waterhead Ward will assemble around the War Memorial.

POTS AND PANS
A service will take place at Pots and Pans from 10.55am onwards.
Meet on Yorkshire Street at the St Marys Gate End.
The parade will depart to the Cenotaph by heading down Yorkshire Street and on to The Esplanade.
Ward councillors, magistrates, officers and other civic guests will assemble in the Town Hall Exchange.
The Mayor, Chief Executive, MP, Leader of the Council, Opposition Leader and Church leaders will leave the main entrance of the town hall for the Service at the Cenotaph. At the end of the march, the Mayoral Party will return to the town hall and the parade will go to Packer Street.
Rochdale will commemorate the centenary of the end of World One War One with a carousel, swing boats and other family entertainment.
Meet on Tower Street, Heywood.
The parade will set off from Tower Street heading to Heywood Memorial Gardens. From Tower Street the parade will take a left on to St James’ Street, right on to Bridge Street, along Market Street and Market Place, right on to Hind Hill Street then left into Heywood Memorial Gardens.
The parade will arrive at Heywood Memorial Gardens.
The Remembrance Service will take place at Heywood Memorial Gardens.
The parade will set off for a march from Heywood Memorial Gardens to Tower Street. From the memorial gardens, the parade will head out on to Hind Hill Street, Pine Street, Hornby Street then LCpl Stephen Shaw Way for the salute and will then march back up to Market Place, Market Street, Bridge Street, St James’ Street back to Tower Street.
Meet at Hare Hill House.
The parade will leave for the village memorial by turning left on to Hare Hill Road and left on to Church Street.
The Remembrance Service will take place at the village memorial.
The parade will return to Hare Hill House following the same route.
The crew of HMS Middleton will be parading in Middleton on the day and proving a guard of honour at the memorial.
Meet facing The Harbord Harbord pub, Wetherspoon's, in Long Street. The parade will head south past Middleton Gardens, turn right on to Middleton Way, turn left on to Manchester Road then arrive at Middleton Memorial Gardens.
The parade will leave for Middleton Remembrance Gardens following the same route.
10.45am: the Remembrance Service will begin.
Meet at Harmony Street band hut.
The parade will leave for Milnrow Memorial park by turning right on to Cornfield Street, turning right on to Newhey Road.
The Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph will begin.
The parade will return to Harmony Street using the same route.
The parades will start from individual Norden Churches.
The Remembrance Service will begin at the Memorial Gardens at the junction of Woodhouse Lane and Edenfield Road.
Observing the 2 minutes' silence.
Laying of wreaths.
The parades will dismiss.
Parade assembles on Market Street (side of the market hall) at 9am and marches to Ashton Parish Church. After service parade proceeds to Ashton War Memorial for wreath laying at 10.45am.
Service in St Gabriel’s Church, Stamford Street, at 10.55am followed by wreath-laying at adjacent war memorial at 12.30pm.
Service in St John’s Church, Kings Road, at 9.30am. Then procession heads to Hurst Cemetery for wreath-laying at the war memorial at 11am.
Service at the war memorial in the grounds of Park Bridge Institute at 10.45am.
Parade assembles at Canon Burrows School, Oldham Road, at 2pm and heads to near-by war memorial for service at 2.30pm.
Service and wreath-laying in Audenshaw Cemetery at 3pm.
Parade assembles at Denton Working Men’s Club, Grosvenor Street, at 10am and heads to Victoria Street remembrance garden to lay wreath. Then goes via Denton Town Hall to war memorial in Victoria Park for service of remembrance at 10.45am.
Service in St Mary’s Church at 10.30am followed by wreath-laying.
Wreath-laying in Thornley Park at 1.30pm.
Parade assembles on Church Street at 10am and heads to Droylsden War Memorial for service and wreath-laying at 10.45am.
Parade leaves Dukinfield Town Hall at 2.45pm for service and wreath-laying at Chapel Hill memorial at 3pm.
Parade leaves Greenfield Street at 2.10pm and heads to Hyde Central Methodist Church, Norfolk Street, for service at 2.30pm. Then on to Hyde Town Hall for wreath-laying at 3.30pm.
Parade leaves Rosemount Trinity Methodist Church at 10am and heads up Bennett Street to George and Dragon for wreath-laying at 10.15am.
Parade leaves Lower Higham Visitor Centre, Higham Lane, at 11.45am for service and wreath-laying at Werneth Low war memorial at noon. Vehicular access will be available.
Parade leaves Broadbottom Community Centre, Lower Market Street, at 10.30am. Act of remembrance at war memorial at 10.45am.
Service in Hollingworth Methodist Church, Water Lane, at 10am followed by wreath-laying at Mottram Moor war memorial at 10.50am.
Service in Mottram Church at 10.30am.
Service and wreath-laying at 10.45am at war memorial, Mossley Park.
Parade leaves Armentieres Square at 10.35am and heads to Trinity Street war memorial for service and wreath-laying at 10.55am.
