When Revolution News spoke with Keith Hill a few days before the transfer window closed he told us that the only way the club would do any business is if a player left.
That’s turned out to be the case as midfielder Jamie Allen has departed for Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.
However, it was a nail biting end to the transfer window with the deal getting done with just minutes to spare before the 11pm deadline.
Allen, who grew up in Rochdale, has signed a three-year deal with the Brewers after coming through Dale’s academy and progressed through the ranks before graduating to the first-team and going onto make 151 first team appearances for Keith Hill’s side.
Rochdale have expressed their thanks to Allen and have wished him the best of luck after the 22-year old brought to an end his 14-year career at the Crown Oil Arena.
